Launch your startup with no budget
Startups don't need a lot of money to thrive. There are many things you can do with zero budget. This newsletter highlights all those ways. The complete list of services I use to build and ship my products:
Landing page
Don't code your landing page, it's a waste of time and energy (and if you're like me the design will be awful!)
Instead use Carrd, it comes with awesome templates out-of-the-box and everything you need to get started.
Payment
Start payment from day 1, that's essential. But don't code it, use some payment processor instead:
FlurlyApp or Gumroad (Handles tax for you, Flurly allows you to create pre-orders)
Stripe (use the Checkout links)
Design
You'll need some designs/visuals for your marketing efforts. Don't spend money on a logo in the early days, instead use:
Analytics
Tracking your visitors is essential, you NEED to measure everything to take the right decisions.
I use Plausible to track the visits on all my website, and if you need more detail you can install Fullstory or something more nerdy like mixpanel
Mailing
Like analytics you need to have some emails tactics with you to talk to your users, improve retention and communicate about your updates.
I use Mailchimp for all my products newsletter and audience management and BeeHiiv for this newsletter, highly recommended!
Hosting
If you're coding you'll need to host your product somewhere, I personally use Netlify to host almost everything. It comes with continuous integration, dev environment, and it's FREE!
Everything that can't be hosted on Netlify is hosted on Heroku. Because it just works (and comes with a TON of plugins)
And that's a wrap! If you follow these steps, you can build a great MVP with no money. That's the tools I used to build more than 8 products for a few hundreds of dollars total!
What do you use for your startup? What tool did I miss? Let me know!
